The other rich economies are on the same trajectory.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yet even with their sophisticated healthcare systems, it is these same countries whose hospitals were overwhelmed during the Covid-19 pandemic. The data show us why.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The countries that suffered the highest mortality rates are those with the highest obesity rates. Conversely, Vietnam, the country with the lowest obesity rate also has one of the lowest Covid-19 mortality rates.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Of the people infected, 33% are asymptomatic. Many of the world\u2019s leading athletes have had Covid-19: Novak Djokovic, Lewis Hamilton, Adam Yates, Egan Bernal. None needed medical treatment.
